COACHES

JORGE A. GALINDO

Jorge A. Galindo is in his 3rd year with the American University Rowing Club, and has been Head Coach since his first Spring with the team.

As an athlete, Jorge was a part of the local Gonzaga College High School rowing team and the Pennsylvania State University Rowing Team as an undergraduate. As a coach, he spent one year as a novice coach at Gonzaga College High School before joining AU in the Fall of 2017.

Jorge is a lifelong resident of Washington D.C. and grew up 15 minutes from our boathouse. He holds down a day job as a legislative assistant on the Capitol Hill.

EMILY PANDIS

Emily Pandis joined the Coaching Team of the American University Rowing Club in January 2020, as an assistant coach.

She has been involved with rowing since middle school, both as an athlete and a coach, having rowed for the club team, N.A.O.K., in her hometown of Kerkyra, Greece before moving to Columbus, Ohio and joining Dublin Crew. Emily walked on the Ohio State University’s novice team, but only participated for a

semester. She returned to her hometown each summer

to help coach the younger athletes participating in the

summer program.

Emily is a graduate student at American University, and

works as an administrative assistant at the American

Hellenic Institute. She is an avid traveller, and her favorite

country visited, so far, is Egypt. She is terrified of all boats

other than rowing shells.
